Dr. Carl Miller

Theassociateprovost foracademicsuccesswill serve as a key leader to elevate our academic support services at鶹ý (PBA)by developing and overseeing programs that enhance the academic experience, encourage scholarly activities, and support initiatives that bridge academic learning with co-curricular experiences. Included in this role is oversight of PBA’s student-facing academic areas,including the Rinker Center for Experiential Learning, the Frederick M. Supper Honors Program, the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources, and the Warren Library.

After successfully serving asactingdean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Carl Miller has been selected as PBA’sassociateprovost foracademicsuccess.

“I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve PBA in advancing student academic engagement, service, and achievement,” said Dr. Miller.“PBA is on the rise as one of the premier institutions of Christian higher education in America, and I look forward to further realizing the tremendous potential of this school and its students.”

Dr. Miller received hisbachelor’sdegreefrom Wittenberg University, hismaster’s degreefrom The Ohio State University, and hisdoctoratefrom the University of Florida. He has served as a faculty member in the Department of English sincefall 2013 and asdepartmentchair since 2024. Through hisexpertiseand guidance asfellowforuniversityscholarship anddevelopment, twenty PBA students have been selected as Fulbrightaward recipients.

“We have been searching for a student-focused leader to develop the systems of support for academic flourishing across the university,” saidDr. Stephen Johnson,provostandchiefacademicofficer.“Dr. Miller brings a robust heart for our students, asystems mindset, andpersonal touchto elevate our work to strengthen the student academic journey.”
