麻豆传媒 (PBA) will welcome alumni, families, students, faculty, staff and friends to campus听from听October听1听to听4 for Homecoming & Family Weekend, a four-day celebration filled with opportunities to reconnect, worship, serve and experience the PBA community.听
This year鈥檚听weekend听will听include听a mix of longtime PBA traditions, family activities, opportunities to explore campus and programs, and events highlighting the University鈥檚 Christian mission and community.听
鈥淗omecoming & Family Weekend is a time to come home to PBA,鈥� said听Dr. Debra A. Schwinn, PBA president.听鈥淚t is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new memories,听and celebrate all that God is doing through our students, alumni, faculty,听and staff. We look forward to welcoming our PBA family back to campus.鈥�听
The weekend听begins听Thursday,听October听1, with听the听44th annual Great American Bug Race, a beloved PBA tradition hosted by the Science Club. The evening will conclude with Anchor Night of Worship, a student-led gathering for praise and reflection on Baxter Green.听
Friday鈥檚 activities will include opportunities for guests to attend PBA classes,听participate听in a watercolor workshop,听and enjoy a food tour of downtown West Palm Beach. The day will also feature Founders Day Chapel at Family Church Downtown. During the chapel service, PBA will celebrate Alumnus of the Year,听Ryan McDermott.听
McDermott听has served in full-time vocational ministry since the age of 19. His life鈥檚 mission is to love his wife well, be his kids鈥� hero, lead thousands to Jesus, and help students be听brave enough to believe they can change the world. He currently serves as a Teaching Pastor and the Senior Executive Director of Family Ministry at Christ Fellowship Church.听听
听This special chapel service will听also听welcome the return of the听, honoring听Carolyn Stone, former听vice president of athletics;听Meghan Gilmore,听an听all-American听cross-country runner;听and Sean Visconti听who left an undeniable mark on PBA Baseball.听
The weekend will continue with campus tours, a community service project and听Sailgating听at the PBA women鈥檚 volleyball game. Through PBA鈥檚 Workship program, participants will partner with Community Greening,听to plant听more than 100 native shade trees at Haverhill Park.听This听family-friendly project听is听an听opportunity for the PBA community to serve together while making a tangible difference in the local community.听
The weekend will听conclude Sunday with opportunities for families to worship at a local church and gather for Sunday Brunch with听parents听and听alumni听in Fraser Dining Hall.听
